I have abandoned my attempt to get my liquid theme to work with WP and IE. I can make it work on Firefox and Safari - sort of, but IE6 is just completely non-compliant. So, I'll stick with my original fixed-width theme until I have lots of time to waste.

Joe,

I must admit that my time (100% leisure these days) is also too valuable.

That's probably why I hesitate to leave the "tolerable" XP o/s and OO,org, plus a few familiar apps and make/take the leap.

Besides, I'm having too much fun!

Hooda,

Get a Mac. Tux (Ubuntu really) is probably the best linux has to offer, but OS X with Window$ running in a virtual machine is a tough combo to beat. I've been running Linux since the 1. series of kernels (late 1980's) and am amazed at the slow yet steady progress open source has made. But in the end, it is still just a bunch of freeware hackers working on software in order to get it functional to the point where it either does what they need or someone else does a better job. While there are a handful of good software packages out there that run on Linux there is a lot of half baked crap you need to wade through. Back when I used to write software that was not a problem. Now, my free time is worth too much to screw around with Linux.

Macs just work (up until iPhone/iPod-Touch V2 SW that is).

Joe,

I only use Internet Exploder to get the XP updates.

Some day I'll have to make the leap to Linux.

Tux is beckoning me, I can hear him/her/it!

Aaaargh! This is so nuts. Just when I think I've got it working (on Firefox) it fails miserably on IE. Just for fun Safari decides it wants to color calibrate my PNG files so my background images no longer blend with my bulk background colors. Why can't everyone just learn to play nice? So, I'm back to the fixed width theme until further notice. Oh, I did figure out a way to play with the new theme without going live with it - Thanks WP 2.6!
