Joe,

Yeah that (yawn) new car incentive is a real sleeper, and I predict that it will do nothing to help the ailing auto industry; most Americans will now wait out the “stimulus” for a newer generation of vehicle, as hybrids alone aren't going to do the trick.

I'm waiting for a vehicle that is powered by some fuel that is more practical (as in, the gubment finally wises up and will allow us to switch to a fuel that we already have) unlike corn, which just raises up our food prices (and absorbs water from the air, or coal and oil, which are taboo, according th the ultra Greenies.

I'm holding out for a plug-in rechargable for Mrs. Thunkit and either a LNG or CNG vehicle for me. Of course, the electric will plug into my (then) recently purchased solar panels (bought primarily for rechaarging the car), and my ride can be refueled in a garage installed recharging/concentrating natural gas station.

Although I have earlier predicted that the fuel companies will avoid jumping heavily onto the corn fuel bandwagon, I now see fuel companies adopting LNG/CNG and Propane as viable alternative fuel options.

Now if somebody really invents an ultra high efficiency flux capacitor in the meantime, then all bets are off ;-)
